The Resolve® user interface (UI) charge-off submissions page provides the capability to upload charge off requests to Freddie Mac.
A charge-off request may be initiated by the Servicer or Freddie Mac.
A charge-off request submitted by the Servicer will automatically route to the exception review path to be reviewed and decisioned by a Freddie Mac analyst. Charge-off requests are submitted only through the Resolve UI. For application programming interface (API) users, you must access the Resolve UI to perform this functionality.
You can upload up to a maximum of 5 loan records per file when submitting charge-off requests for approval. Each upload submission validates key data points. Once successfully uploaded, the Resolve dashboard and Details page provides the status of the request. An alert notification via the bell icon will notify the Servicer that the status of a charge-off request has changed.
Follow the process steps below to upload a single or up to a maximum of 5 loan record(s) per file for charge-off requests through the Resolve UI submission path for decisioning.
1. From the Resolve dashboard, click SUBMISSIONS in the top navigation bar. The Submissions menu displays. Click the Charge-Off link under LIQUIDATION.
Important: Download the Freddie Mac provided Charge-Off Template to create your file and upload the file via the Upload Charge-Off Submissions page. Ensure you use the most recent template when creating your upload file. Refer to the Download Template section for more information.
Note: The workout comments field size has increased to 5000 characters across all Resolve products for Servicers to provide more information on the borrower's circumstances for the retention or liquidation workout.
2. The Upload Charge-Off Submissions page displays. Click anywhere in the blue-dashed section at the bottom of the page to browse your computer for the file you want to upload. Browse and open or drag and drop the file to upload.
3. The uploaded file will appear at the bottom of the Upload Charge-Off Submissions page. Click Submit or Cancel.

Proceed without correcting the errors; Resolve will upload the error-free loans. Loans with data validation errors will not be uploaded.
