Workout Messages Section

The Workout Messages section of the Payment Deferral Details page displays error messages and warnings around the payment deferral and includes the following fields.

The table below provides a brief description of each data field in the Workout Messages section.

Field Name: Field Type: Description:
Workout Messages Read-Only Table

Lists the applicable error messages for requests that were submitted through Resolve's user interface (UI) or the Retention application programming interface (API).

There are three types of error messages:

Error Type: Description:
FATAL

Provides the fatal error(s) that must be resolved to move the request forward in the decisioning process.

Important: If a fatal error and a warning (any type) are returned by Resolve, the fatal error takes precedence and the workout becomes ineligible. The Servicer may consider submitting the request through the exception review path for decisioning.

For example: When a fatal error and a warning with a conditional approval of a payment deferral are returned by Resolve, the fatal error will prevail over the warning of the conditional approval.

WARNING Provides informational updates as the workout request progresses through the decisioning process.
 INFORMATIONAL

Provides additional details regarding the workout request, including further direction or other options.  Review the information in conjunction with other messages for possible corrective action or next steps.

For example:  'Please review Freddie Mac response and resubmit the corrected information or submit for an exception review'.

View the full list of workout messages on the Developer Portal and via Resolve Retention Request Validation Error Messages on the Resolve Training page.  You can find the messages listed by the workout error code, error description, category, and error type with possible causes and next steps.
