Invalid Input Errors

You may receive an Invalid Input error when providing updated data on the Details page. You will not be able to submit your updated data  until you have corrected the data field(s) with an invalid input.

There are two types of invalid input errors:

  Input Error Type: Description: Example:
1. Required field is missing

Required data fields are identified by a red asterisk and can't be left blank.

You will not be able to submit updated information unless a value is entered in every required field on the form.

2. Incorrect Formatting 

The data field(s) that you have updated are in an incorrect format. 

Refer to the Types of Formatting Errors section for common types of formatting errors and how to resolve them. 

Correcting Input Errors

An error notification will display on the top left-side of your screen alerting you to correct the invalid input(s).

 The metro stop(s) will appear in red alerting you to fix the incorrect data field(s) in the corresponding section. The incorrect data field(s) will also display the invalid input error message in red.

Correct the data field(s) that display an invalid input error and click the submit button to proceed with sending your updated information to Freddie Mac. 

Types of Formatting Errors

You can refer to the chart below for common types of invalid inputs and how to resolve them.

Formatting Error: How to Resolve:
Enter the FICO score as a three digit value. 
Enter date fields in mm/dd/yyyy format or click on the calendar icon to select the date.

Enter name fields in text or alpha-numeric format.

Remove special characters such as ?,!, %, and *.
