Template Formatting Guidelines

Once you have downloaded and saved the DIL Template, you can reuse the template each time you need to submit a deed-in-lieu request.  

IMPORTANT:  Prior to creating your file, ensure the template that is saved on your computer or local area network (LAN) is the most up-to-date version available currently on the Upload Deed-In-Lieu Submissions page.

Note the following restrictions when uploading a file:

  1. Use the Freddie Mac provided Deed-In-Lieu Template.
  2. Create a file name that does not exceed 50 characters.
  3. Upload only one file template at a time.
  4. Add a minimum of one loan per file.
  5. Add a maximum of 5 loans per file.
  6. Do not exceed a file size of 5MB.
  7. Do NOT enter the following symbols: $, (-), %.
  8. Note: As you create your upload file, refer to the sample data shown in the Metadata tab to avoid common data formatting errors.
